It's been a while...

Hey everyone! I wanted to post a quick update. Things have been fun and busy for me and my little family.  Lots of fun for the holidays! Also lots of fun out with friends.

At the beginning of the month my fiance and I went out with a good friend of mine and her boyfriend to help celebrate her 28th birthday!

After that it was time to start getting prepared for Christmas.  You can always get kids to listen better this time of year for some reason. ;) We finally went to get our Christmas tree at a local tree farm. The kids had so much fun looking for our perfect tree.

After looking, and looking, and looking we finally found a tree to take home.

I'm finally getting into the Christmas spirit and this week I've taken cookies to work twice already!

In addition to a wonderful end to 2011, it looks like we will be buying a house in the Spring! I can tell this is going to be an adventure, but I am ready for a place that belongs to us!

This year the kids want electronics and so do I! Stay tuned for future blog posts with quality pictures!

I hope everyone has a wonderful Christmas holiday and a wonder New Year!

FOTD: An experimental success?

Hello everyone! One of my cousins came into town this weekend to celebrate her 27th birthday. It seemed to be a girl's plus 2 guys night out. There ended up being about 8 girls. I'm sure the guys didn't mind. We went out for dinner and then downtown to hit up 5 different clubs. It was a very fun and interesting night. I love my family!

I recently watched Selena Gomez's video for Love You Like a Love Song. The video looked like a lot of fun. I especially liked her second look and wanted to attempt to recreate my own version. Here is what I came up with and wore out for the night.

Phone pictures with my front camera.

Phone picture with the better camera...more true to color.

I must say I was a little nervous putting this on, but I was very pleased with the way it turned out.

And here are pictures of the best Prickly Pear Margaritas!

I had mine on the rocks and my fiance had his frozen.

Incredibly yummy!

Dallas Cowboys FOTD

Hello everyone! If you didn't know, I am a die hard Dallas Cowboys fan. My dad will always cheer for the team that plays against the Cowboys. And people all across America enjoy hating on the Cowboys. I think that if you're wanting the Cowboys to lose, you secretly wish for them to win. Haha! The thing about football is it brings everyone together. And I love that! On game day I will wear my Miles Austin jersey and wear a Dallas Cowboys inspired makeup look. I will usually wear blue and glitter, but this past Sunday I decided to tone it down a bit.

Here is my game day FOTD!

Beauty Blogger Lovin'

Hello everyone! I've been MIA again. I have been checking Twitter and Facebook quite regularly though. I just haven't been blogging. I wanted to share with everyone the people who inspired me to start blogging! When I was thinking about getting into blogging, I was a little hesitant. I wanted to be able to share quality product photos. I still haven't been able to do that, but with a few pushes from some fellow beauty bloggers, I went for it! And here I am, sporadically blogging when I can!

So please go check out these beautiful ladies. They have amazing blogs. I admire what they do and in addition to talent and personality, they are quite pleasant to look at. If you don't know, now you know! Go show some love!

Ice Parading into my heart

Hello beauties! Here is part duece of my recent MAC haul. I really wanted to get the Iced Delights Lip Bag in Sultry, but one of the makeup artists showed me the face kits. There are two. Each one comes with a snowglobe compact, 3 travel brushes, a lipstick, a lipgloss and a makeup bag. It is a very good deal. I bought the Fabulously Festive Face Kit in wintercool. I am not sure yet if I will use the brushes (129SE, 266SE, 275SE), but I will be using the makeup products.

Here are pictures:

The beautiful box.

 The goodies inside.

Snowglobe!

Snowglobe compact with Phloof, Brun, Quarry, Dance in the Dark eyeshadows and Mocha blush.

 Hot Gossip lipstick.

Swatches of Mocha, Phloof, Brun, Quarry, Dance in the Dark, Hot Gossip, Emancipation lipgloss.

I wasn't sure about the lipstick at first, but it's beautiful with the lipgloss layered on top. I think MAC did a great job with this collection. I might still be going back to pick up some more. Should I? I suppose if I can afford to and if what I want is still in stock!

Glitter and Ice is Oh So Nice

I have read that every year MAC comes out with a huge holiday collection. This is really my first year paying attention, and I'm so glad! This year's collection is huge. I mean, MAC comes out with about a hundred collections throughout the year. This one is definately an eye catcher. There are several parts to the collection itself. I bought from Glitter and Ice and Ice Parade.

I went into MAC yesterday when the collection officially launched in stores. I usually go into MAC with few items in mind and leave with just what's on my list. Not this time. I even said to the lady ringing up my products,"Damn you MAC!".

All of the dazzleglasses were so shimmery. I finally decided on She Zam. After swatching the mineralized eyeshadows I decided on Winterized. At first I couldn't decide on if I wanted a beauty powder, but was sold on the white packaging and got How Beautiful to use as a highlight.

The bag of goodies I got! The packaging is so pretty, isn't it?

Dazzleglass in She Zam.

Mineralized eyeshadow in Winterized.

Beauty powder in How Beautiful.

Swatches of She Zam, Winterized, and How Beautiful.
I wanted to get so many more items. The whole collection is gorgeous. Even though is seems half of the collection is repremotes, the 8 pan eyeshadows and face kits come with snowglobe compacts that make it so much easier to carry some of your favorites along with you.  What are you hauling from the MAC holiday collection?

You're Lookin at a Winner!

Hello beauties! It seems I have neglected my blog. A whole month long! I truly have been thinking about blogging every weekend. My main goal was to take quality pictures of all the products I have received and purchased. I have tried and tried, but have failed at the quality I was aiming for. But it's all good. I have decided to post the pictures I have taken anyways. I like quality, but I also want to post more.

I also have been busy on the weekends. It seems my hubby and I have been having so much fun! I went to my first tailgating party for the UT Longhorns and just last weekend rode on a party bus with 18 other people to Dallas to attend a Dallas Cowboys game. That was an epic trip.  Being inside that stadium seemed so surreal! And next weekend I turn 30 and have been planning a huge party to celebrate. Time is passing so fast!

Now, onto some pictures!

I entered a giveaway a little while hosted by Dawn for her 200 follower givewaway. She has amazing makeup looks and you should go check out her blog! She shipped everything to me and I received my goodies super quick! Below are pictures of what I won!

She wrapped everything up very well with black tissue and bubble wrap and sent the package in a black box, which I loved!

Ardell fashion lashes, MAC eyeshadows in Mythical and Parisian Skies, EOS lipbalm.

MAC nail lacquer in Bad Fairy

Swatches of the MAC products.

Last weekend I wore Mythical with some NYX glitter on top. It was a perfect pair! And I plan on wearing the lashes at my 30th birthday bash!

Another product included with this prize package was a Wet N Wild eyeshadow palette in Comfort Zone. I will make a separate post to include swatches. The Wet N Wild eyeshadows are amazing!

I was so excited to have won this prize! Thank you again Dawn!

Too Faced Smokey Eye palette

Here are swatches of my newest, and first, Too Faced Smokey Eye eye shadow palette. I originally wanted to get the Tarte for True Blood palette, but it was sold out. When I asked if there were any more in stock I was led to a very clean and lit up display of all the palettes they carry. I wanted to get at least 3 of them, but decided on one of the Too Faced palettes. I think I made a good decision.

Below are pictures of the palette and swatches of the colors.

This palette also includes 3 look cards to help you create each of the smokey eye looks. One card each for Day, Classic, and Fashion.

Each color over Too Faced Shadow Insurance

Day with Firefly, Cloves, Up in Smoke

without flash

Classic with White Lie, Nice Ash, Smokin Hot

Fashion with In a Flash, Smoking Jacket, Smolder

All the colors blend beautifully. I like this palette so much and will be using it a lot!

Make Up Forever #310

It's blog or bust tonight!
I took a much needed trip into Sephora last week. While there I decided to find a green eye shadow to buy. After swatching some of the brands I came across Make Up For Ever #310. It was so pretty. I had to buy it. So, below are my many pictures of the look I created.

Sorry for so many pictures of my face. I don't remember all the products I used because I put the look together on a kinda last minute decision to go out to eat. Which consisted of driving down the street to Sonic. Haha!

I took my makeup off just a few hours later and noticed the green eye shadow had already started to fade. I made another trip back to Sephora earlier today to return #310. I had in mind to get the Tarte for True Blood palette. Unfortunately it was out of stock. So...I brought home my first Too Faced palette instead!

Hook 'em Horns FOTD

Me and the hubby rarely get out alone. We spend our time at home and with our kids. So, when he asked me if I wanted to take the kids to his parent's house and go watch the Longhorn game at a bar I gladly said yes. I had exra time to do my makeup. I decided this would be the day I wear a pair of false eyelashes. I always look at them on the shelves, own 2 pair, but have never really worn them.

I took a few pics of the final look, but I am not happy with the quality of my camera. I may need to play with the settings a bit or photoshop my pics to be happy. I started to get discouraged about posting, but I received some encouragement from a couple of awesome bloggers. No name dropping just yet. I will dedicate a separate post for that. :-)

On to the look.

Products used:
Revlon Colorstay foundation
Bobbi Brown Corrector
MAC mineralize skinfinish natural
Mayebelline define-a-brow

Benefit eye bright on the waterline
NARS Orgasm blush

And that's pretty much it for the look.  We had a great time watching the Texas Longhorns win a close game. We ate lots of food and drank lots of alcohol. Here is a pic of one of the drinks we had. All mixed drinks should be this size.  Haha!

Salud!
